A good thing

  • Mood: Weird
  • Movie of the moment: Alias - TV Show
  • Quote: Pizza/Jack Daniel's Downhome Punch

I have now seen two movies in the past two nights - that is the most I have seen in theatre in awhile.  Years ago I could be found at a movie theatre all weekend - now, I can barely afford one a month.  I know that I am not the only one that hates the commercials they play before the movies.  I have decided that every brand/company that shows commercials, I will not buy anything from them. The previews are ok - I enjoy seeing what is going to be in theatres.  In fact, the preview that I have been waiting to see - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - was shown tonight...YAY!!!  I have decided to give a brief review of any movie I see.  Although I don't intend to share any spoilers - I may, but I plan to put a warning before it.  So, the two movies I have seen recently are Corpse Bride and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Last night Michelle, 4 of her coworkers, and myself went and saw The Exocism of Emily RoseIn case anyone was wondering the events 'are based on an actual story' - Anneliese Michel.  I personally thought the movie had a slow pace and it reminded me of a 2 hours long episode of Law & Order.  There were several spots that had people jumping out of their seats, but don't go to see this if you are expecting a 'classic' horror film.  The religious aspect had Michelle and me conversing - she is a Catholic and I am not very religous at all.  I can't really discuss my opinoins too much, without giving it away...so, I will end it here.   My rating of the movie - 3/5 stars - if you are going to see it...either bring your student ID or go to the matinee.

Tonight I went and saw Corpse Bride with Lacey, Clint, and Jeremy.  I really enjoyed the movie.  The claymation is really well done - and is definately Tim Burton.  This is the first movie in months that had me laughing out loud!  My only problems with the movie: it was too short and it was kind of predictable.  All in all, I give it 4/5 stars - if you are not a Tim Burton fan, then don't see it - if you are a Tim Burton fan, then don't expect to compare it to A Nightmare Before Christmas.    There are two sites linked to the movie that are cute - if anyone is interested.

Well that is my   worth.
