Another weekend is over. :(

  • Mood: Unusual
  • Movie of the moment: Crossing Jordon
  • Quote: Diet Coke and Pizza

This weekend went by fast...they always do.  This weekend I went to the Kansas City Ren Fair and finally got to go see Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

The trip to the Ren Fair was...different, long, and full of idiots on the road.  I love my roommates dearly, but gosh...they are backseat drivers.  I won't go into it here...but I wanted to kiss the ground when we finally arrived.  Also, a note to anyone planning a trip and not familiar with the area - make sure that you have directions before you leave.  I had completely forgotten to look up directions...and one of my roommates (I really blame myself!) kept giving directions and stating that the road we needed was the one that was closed for construction...so, we kept driving - into Kansas.  Although we drove for another 15 minutes, nothing looked familiar and there was no signs advertising the ren fair.  I finally decided to stop at a gas station and get directions and/or a map (Just my luck - the attendant had no idea about the ren fair).  Luckily, a customer happened to know where we needed to go and gave us directions.  (I should note here that I was in a bitchy mood most of the day!)  After receiving directions - which just happened to be the exact way we were going - I took every opportunity to point out to my roommate that he would have gotten us more lost (if you are reading this - sorry...like I said, I was being a bitch ).  About another 10 minutes later, we were finally there.

If you have never been to a ren fair, I strongly recommend that you attend one.  They are a great way to spend a full day no matter who you are.  They have numerous entertaining shows, delicious food, and many things to spend money on.  While we went to a couple of shows, I enjoyed shopping around and eating.  Although there was much to choose from, I finally decided to purchase a leather book cover - probably for my sketch pad.  Ohhh....the food!  I was surrounded my funnel cakes, kettel corn, turkey legs, fried ice cream, and sooo much more.  I was able to control myself and only munched on some potato skins and a bread bowl filled with chicken pot pie (I thank the St. Louis Bread Company for this feat - I chowed down on some asiago cheese bagels and a iced hazelnut bravae (?)before the fair and it really filled me up.)

Earlier today, I went and saw Wallace and Gromit with Lacey.  I give this movie 5 stars and 2 thumbs up - it is a great movie!  So, what are you doing still reading this...get thee to a movie theater and see it.  Go...I mean it.  I need to go read some more of The Chronicles of Narnia...Later.

After a bit of searching.
